About Me

Hello, and thanks for being here!

I’ve worked in journalism for the past eight years, based in Southern California and New Mexico. Over the years, it’s been exciting to explore the different aspects of the editorial process, from fact-checking, reporting, writing, editing, producing stories online, to sharing coverage on social media. As a well-rounded journalist, I bring a unique perspective to newsrooms and the different clients I work with.

I’m always brainstorming new story ideas and am most interested in—and have the most experience—covering and researching topics like the environment, outdoor recreation, science and tech, and child welfare and education.

On this site, you’ll find some of my work, including a final report of a project I conducted with a team at Outside to track every cyclist hit and killed by a vehicle in 2020. You can also read an excerpt from Tracers in the Dark: The Global Hunt for the Crime Lords of Cryptocurrency, a book I fact-checked by Andy Greenberg about how law enforcement traces cryptocurrency transactions on the blockchain. An abbreviated version of my resume is also here.

Beyond the work, I'm a big fan of getting outdoors in nature, traveling, reading, and being generally obsessed with my orange cat, Cosgrove (who is, of course, pictured somewhere on this website...).
